Kayaking around Pentewan

Explore the coastline of Mevagissey bay from a kayak or sit-on-top. Paddle to those interesting coves that are only accessible from the sea while navigating around those rocky outcrops. Why not stop off for a picnic or pop into Mevagissey for Fish and Chips? If you are feeling more adventurous! paddle around Black Head and past Silver Mines to Charlestown or kayak to Gorran Haven venturing around Chapel Point or visit the seals on the Gwingeas rocks!

Just remember that you are on the sea and should take note of the weather conditions and forecast in advance of setting off and wear/carry suitable kit!

Also, we would recommend that you, wear not only an appropriate buoyancy aid (with whistle) and wetsuit or drysuit but you tell someone on land where you are going and how long you will be (please remember to tell them when you get back). Have a suitable means of communication, such as a VHF radio, but at least a mobile phone in a waterproof case like our SwimCell cases, that means that you can use your phone without taking it out of its waterproof case! Also never set out on the sea without a paddle leash and a bottle of water and some snacks. A dry bag such as our Overboard dry bags with flares and waterproof torch in.
